Vista!
After much pestering from my bro, finally decided to take the plunge and upgrade to Vista >< At the same time, upgraded my CPU, Ram and changed the motherboard as well (Thank you singapore shares!). At the same time, bro gave me his super duper heat sink as it was too big for his current casing ^_^v (can't wait to test it out :D)

Currently vista is still busy updating ... apparently it will automatically update with the new service pack as well?

[off topic]Thinking of selling off my current Panasonic DMC-FZ5 for $300 .. I wonder if there will be any takers? ^^;

what are the benefits of using Vista? I see that not all software supports the Vista OS.

vista allows you to utilise more ram I think .. anyway, the XP version I bought came with the free upgrade to vista.. so decided to upgrade ^^;

Yeah.. 2 of my favourite programmes can't run on it T_T.. hopefully the service pack can solve that >

on the contary vista you are using does not allow the use of ram of more than 4 GB. Only 64bit OS allows people to use more than 4GB of ram. I was going to tell you to run XP because some games in fact a number of games can't run on vista but too late of course.

Ya. I think mine can only got max of 3.5 gig? anyway, my ram only 4 gig.. so still ok lol.. hopefully newer games can work with vista >

Tried Vista for a while, then went back XP. Didn't like the thought it can hold my PC hostage if I refuse to register with MS. (Mine was a legal copy, btw) Up till now, there is no compelling reason for me to install Vista yet.

But since it's free, meh, take it. And keep your XP install disc as backup. Or as Reboot says, dual boot. ;)

I like Vista... =D

It's a big ram hog so I wouldn't recommend it unless you have at least 3 gigs. Aero is sexy, windows are more snappy and terminating programs is faster.

I turn off User Account Control.. it was a pain in the ass.

For compatibility issues try right clicking on the program and select Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and check the Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP. If it still doesn't work try disabling Visual Theme.

Currently got 4 gig of ram :D that was one of the main reason why I decided to try vista ^^ Lots of eye candy haha.. so much movement going around everywhere.

I agree about the User account control >< all the extra clicks you gotta make just to do a simple task =_=

Okie thanks for the advice!I'll try and see if they'll work >
