Human Tetris!

Took part in the skipping challenge today. Every 20 skips = 1 bowl of brown rice to the charity. We were grouped in teams of 5 and there were about 30+ teams in total. We skipped in segments of 5 minutes, with a rest in between. The total skipping time was 25 min

I have not skipped in ... wow.. I can't even remember when I last skipped ... primary school? Initially, when we all trying out, everyone was kinda awkward with the ropes, but once the event started proper, we kinda managed to get it. At first, before we started skipping, I thought maybe I'll be able to contribute like.. 100 skips? But once we started, the count went up quite fast (esp when you get into the 'zone' ... and you can skip non stop for a period of time) and by the time it ended, I had skipped about 1600+ times :D The really good skippers got more than 4000 counts @_@

My body is seriously aching all over now... >< ... fun event :D but.... really really tiring! Meaningful tho!

Performed by people who are not able to listen to the music .. simply amazing...

AWwww... just heard from colleagues that the black face uncle and aunty are no longer there... seems like there was a change in management and the quality isn't as good now... *sad*

Wonder where is a good place for good Sashimi?

Currently reading Freakonomics by Steven D. Levitt & Stephen J. Dubner. Quite an interesting read :) The authors try to explain how the world works by using economics ... by how the world is driven by incentives. Just started, hope to be able to have time to enjoy this book :)

Some trip details...

Hotel: Salil Hotel, Soi 8 @ Sukhumvit - Verdict: If you are going to ONLY use the BTS, it's a fairly ok choice, but slightly inconvenient as you will be dependent on their shuttle service out to the main road. If you are gonna use the Taxi, please avoid .. as the main road outside JAMS really badly.

Day 1: Shopping @ MBK - Quite alright, but the things there didn't really appeal to me much.

Day 2: Dream World - Not really my kind of thing .. it was meant more for the little one :) Remind me never EVER to take rides that go round and round and round and round ..... Package of 1000 Baht includes transport to and fro + Tickets which allows you to take most of the rides for free + buffet lunch

Day 3: Platinum Mall - Oh yeaaaaah.. I could spend the whole day there!!! :D Tons of shops of so many variety!! Was served by a katoey at an accessory shop ... wow.. so gentle! The food court at the mall has an impressive range too!

Day 4: Chatuchak+ Siam Paragon - MORE MUST GO places! Chatuchak is the place to get all your cheap cheap cheap t-shirts, earrings, bags etc. It's VERY HOT though .. so dress lightly and carry a big bag :D Siam Paragon has a more Takashimaya feel, the basement eating area has alot of good food :D plus, their supermarket sells very cheap items too! Medical supplies are much cheaper here too!

Didn't bring enough Baht ... had to change extra SGD at the Thai money changers .. and in the end, had to resort to swiping my credit card .. hahahaha

But wow.. really good shopping lol .. now I know why everyone loves shopping in Bangkok!

Hey guys :) Anyone interested to come beta test a gaming programme in the Library? The Library is organising a preview session at the Jurong Regional Library and needs feedback on how to refine the programme format. Need about 20 participants and lunch is provided!

It's on 24th Oct (Sat) from 10am to 1pm. Games in the programme include Wii Tennis, Bowling, Mario Kart Wii, Dance Dance Revolution, as well as a few board games.

Almost 4 am now as I write this, just finished the book 'Tuesdays with Morrie' picked it up at abt 1am and couldn't put it down until I completed it. For those who have never read it before, READ IT.. this is a non-fiction story about the life lessons the author got through his Tuesday meetings with his dying professor. Reading it, you can't help but also reflect upon your own life... as so many of the 'lessons' covered in the book are experienced in our own everyday lives.

Had a great gathering tonight over at my place :) Cooked Japanese curry for the gang (yes.. that's like the only thing I can 'cook' .... but it's really just following the instructions on the packet...) followed by a walk in chinese garden (it's free! 'cos no costly exhibitions this year) and then back again to the house for some pomelo, mooncake, tea and survivor!

Nice mini celebration ^_^ Too bad no one recited chinese poems under the moon.. wahahhaa...


We finished it!!!!! I thought there would be lots left over!

Another sinful weekend!

First, tried out the Partyworld at the taman jurong shopping centre ... really convenient 'cos it's so near! 4 hr package .. think it was almost $18? Really enjoyed the session :)

Proceeded to the Sobasei Weekend Buffet (only available 1st and last weekends of the month). About $30 / pax ... It was okay I guess, there was sashimi (limited choice), handmade soba, tempura and other usual japanese stuff. Might want to try their ala carte menu the next time :)

Wow.. just had the Swensen 1 for 1 ice cream buffet at Ion today ... I will not eat ice cream again for the next month or so...

Big winner of the day goes to my female colleague who ate ..... 18 scoops!!!!
Followed by yet another female colleague who ate 14 scoops!!!
Then I came in third with 9 scoops (feel like puking milk...)
Then by another female colleague with 8 scoops..

The guys were lagging behind with just 5 and 4 scoops :P

Finally got around to trying the DIY toufu mix I bought a couple months back lol



Quite easy to make .. just boil, add in coagulant, put into container. Put it aside for abt 20 min until firm. Then remove it in a bowl of cold water. Had some trouble trying to retreive the toufu in one piece... lol. Doesn't look too nice here ^^;



Added some fried dried prawns, fried shallots, spring onion, oil and dark soya sauce. Verdict: texture is abit grainy, taste on milky and slighty sweet. Quite easy to do... but with silky toufu so easily available, I would just rather buy the ready made type :P


Went to the Mayday Concert (first time going to a band concert :D)  .. wow .. they ROCK!!!! Lucky for us, they played past 12am for the Saturday show too!!!  我永远支持你五月天！！
