Was walking home from work today, while cutting through chinese garden, was pleasantly surprised that they had an event by Singapore Chinese Orchestra! :D The first song they played was Amazing grace. They had 2 musicians playing the suo na (in place of the bag pipes) stand on the 2nd and 3rd level of the pagoda, opposite and facing the main orchestra (with the audience in the middle). The effect was wonderful! Like music from the heavens lol ... Stood there for an hour before making my way back home. Was pleasantly surprised to see one of our JJC CO instructors still playing with the orchestra :)

Finally after so long, I changed the nib of my stylus.. lol.. it had been sharpened to a point at on side >< it was alittle tricky trying to use my eyebrow tweezers to pull it out!

quite unbelievable that it's possible to draw so much until the nib gets worn down ^^;

Stylus feels so smooth now! Not used to it... lol

Met up with an online artist friend from Canada at Plaza Singapura today. Interesting that this is the third time we've met. So far, we have met once every 3 years! So I guess the next time we meet will be sometime in 2012? lol He's another friend who started off as 2D artist and became a 3D artist professionally. Interesting how so many of the online artists went on and became professionals in the art line. I wonder if I might have done that if I were not in Singapore .. hmmm....

Off topic, Korean Boys Before Flowers is the best so far for me(comparing between the Taiwan, Japanese and Korean versions) I like the adjustments they have done to the story so far :) Ji Hoon (Hanazawa Rui) in the Korean version shows so much more love and attention to Jan Di (Tsukushi).. so heartbreaking to watch ><"" (do such guys really exist?...) Geee ... am so addicted to this series right now... why are the actors all so young?!? *feels so old*

Was happily eating my mixed rice lunch, when I saw a very cooked baby roach in my spoon, mixed with the food. Promptly threw the entire packet away ...

It looked well cooked .. grey, soggy .... think it was cooked with the dish .. not dropped in by accident ...

Totally grossed out now ....

David Edding passes away at age 77 on 2nd June 2009.

T_____T .... it was because of him and his stories that got me hooked to reading fantasy in the first place. Such wit in his story telling and such wonderful development of endearing characters.

RIP David Eddings .. you will be sorely missed.

Random library promotion: 4th June there's a FREE manga drawing class conducted by Manda! Just borrow any 4 books from Jurong Regional Library on that day and you can join the workshop (11-1pm) this Thursday ^_^ Venue is at the Jurong Regional Library @ Programme Zone (wonder if I should promote this at SGcafe?)

[OT] Keyboard with silicon covering is very nice to type on!!!!

Splurged alittle at Challenger today ><" Thanks to my insinuator brother who kept saying that if the total amt purchased is more than $50, there's an additional $2 discount (to pay off the parking fees)

What I bought:
1) Powerlogic Zen Z200 Keyboard $26.90 (The keys on the old keyboard was a tad too hard, have to press rather hard .. had quite a bit of typos 'cos of that)
2) Kingston 4GB Micro SD + Card Reader $20.90 (Need to get a thumbdrive to replace the old which which spoilt)
3) Powerlogic GLX-20 Laser Mouse $17.90 (The old mouse was actually the small sort ment for notebooks ... my hands sometimes get cramps from using it for long periods @_@)

Total $63.70 .... arrggh... @_@

Had dinner @ Benten cafe @ JP ... food was quite alright. Ordered the hamburger steak :D Bro had the handburger curry rice. Tasted not bad too :)

Pretty happy that I managed to catch all the movies that I wanted for this month :) 
1) X-men Origins (get to see a butt naked Hugh Jackman .. wahahaha)
2) Star Trek - This did not dissappoint!!! My trekkie love has been revived again! Though I am more of a fan of the 'Next Generation' this movie has piped my interest in the original series with Cptn Kirk. Live long and prosper!
3) Angels and Demons - Pretty good as well! Albeit abit rushed. I find the book better as there's more character development in it. I was kinda surprised that they did not add in Kohler in the movie. 4) The uninvited - Movie with a twist, kinda like 'The Others' and 'Six sense' ... but not done as well I feel. Still an alright movie
5) Gu Gu the cat - Quite enjoyed this movie as there were quite a few familar faces! Ueno Juri (Nodame Cantabile), Miyuki Oshima (Handsome suit), Hiroyuki Ikeuchi (Ip Man). Story was about a Mangaka's life. Initially, this was a movie my mom was bugging me to watch with her.. in the end, I enjoyed it more than her hahaha

Last night, I had a weird crackling sound in my right ear .. kinda freaky as I was worried if an insect had gotten into my ear! whenever I tried to put something in to investigate, I'll get a very loud craaack sound which scared me enough not to fiddle with it >< The sound was still there in the morning when I woke up, but with some massive head shaking, I think it managed to dislodge itself, but I did not see anything come out though. Thank goodness it's gone .. ><..

The new red plants in the tank are bending down .. wonder what is wrong hmmm..

Whoooo... tank went through quite abit of ups and downs these past few weeks... ><

Workwise, so far so good ^^ a librarian's job is pretty interesting ^^ I'm not stuck to the chair the whole day, answering emails, phones and typing policy papers ... Still got to get used to the shift work and the occassional weekend duty though ^^ And for once, my supervisor is a male!! hahahaha hope he will not micro manage =P Still quite blur about how things works around here, but being a SQA certified organisation, their knowledge management is very well done ... just have to spend more time reading the documents that they park in the servers. I love the fact that my library is within walking distance to 4 big coffee shops wahahhahaa... good cheap food :D :D :D Another big plus is that it's only 2 train stops away from home!
